About Christine Helou
Christine Helou is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Oncology Certified Nurse with extensive experience in oncology nursing. She earned both her BSN and MSN from George Mason University and completed her Nurse Practitioner coursework at George Washington University. Her clinical training included rotations in adult primary care, pediatrics, family medicine, OBGYN, and oncology.
Christine began her career at Inova Fairfax Hospital in the Hematology and Oncology Unit, where she served as a Staff Nurse Clinician III, Charge Nurse, and member of both the Scheduling Committee and Practice Council. Since 2012, she has worked at Virginia Cancer Specialists, providing care in chemotherapy, hematology, oncology, palliative care, hospice, survivorship counseling, bone marrow transplant, clinical trials, and symptom management. She currently serves as Lead Advanced Practice Provider, practice-wide.
She has held leadership roles in the Oncology Nursing Society, including Program Chair, President Elect, President, Past President, and Virtual Community Administrator. She has an interest in life style medicine utilizing exercise and nutrition in the care for her patients.
