Virginia Cancer Specialists and Next Oncology Virginia are proud to recognize Alexander Spira, MD, PhD, FACP, for his upcoming presentation at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2026, one of the world’s leading forums for cancer research and innovation. Dr. Spira will present updated findings from a Phase 1/2 study evaluating vopimetostat in combination with RAS-targeted therapies in patients with MTAP-deleted, RAS-mutant metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The research represents an important step in advancing precision medicine for patients with hard-to-treat cancers. By targeting specific genetic alterations that drive tumor growth, investigators are working to develop more personalized treatment approaches that may improve outcomes for patients whose options have historically been limited. The study data will be presented during a poster session at ESMO in Madrid, Spain, on October 25, 2026.
“Advances in precision oncology are made possible through clinical research that brings together innovative science and patient participation,” said Alexander Spira, MD, PhD, FACP. “We are encouraged by the continued progress being made in targeting genetically defined cancers and look forward to sharing updated findings with the global oncology community at ESMO.”
As a leader in clinical research and early-phase drug development, Dr. Spira’s participation at ESMO highlights the ongoing commitment of Virginia Cancer Specialists to expanding access to promising new therapies through clinical trials and research innovation.
