Lindy Rosal, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon who is fellowship trained in breast oncology surgery. Before joining Virginia Cancer Specialists, Dr. Rosal was a military active-duty surgeon. With over a decade of military service, Dr. Rosal has served as Chief of Surgery at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland where she was also the Director of Robotic Surgery and the Director of General Surgery. She also served as flight commander of surgical specialties and a member of a ground surgical team. She now continues to serve her country as a surgeon in the reserve working as a breast surgical oncologist at Walter Reed Medical Center. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Excelsior Surgical Society (ESS) of the ACS, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
After earning her medical degree from the University of South Alabama School of Medicine in Mobile, Dr. Rosal received her residency training in general surgery at Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, OH. She completed her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Rosal is accomplished with multiple professional publications, as well as academic experience including her work as an ATLS course director and instructor at multiple locations throughout the NCR.
Dr. Rosal enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. During her leisure time she likes to scuba dive, ski, hike, bike, and do pilates.
