Tina Roy, MD, is a hematologist-oncologist who provides comprehensive care for patients with cancer and blood disorders. She has a particular clinical interest in lung cancer and the use of targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and other personalized treatment approaches.
Dr. Roy completed her fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Before fellowship, she served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and her bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering from Cornell University.
Throughout her training, Dr. Roy has demonstrated a commitment to clinical excellence, leadership, and medical education. She has held numerous teaching roles for medical students, residents, and fellows. She has been recognized for her academic achievements with honors including the Clinical Scholar Award, the Excellence in Internal Medicine Award, and election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Roy has contributed to scholarly and research initiatives across lung cancer, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, and hematologic malignancies, authoring publications and presenting her work at national meetings. She has a particular interest in improving care for patients with lung cancer and received a 2026 Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology for her work in HIV-associated lung cancer. Her research strengthens her commitment to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care informed by advances in cancer treatment.
Dr. Roy is committed to helping patients navigate their cancer journey with compassion, clear communication, and personalized treatment plans. She believes in building strong partnerships with patients and their families while delivering care guided by the latest advances in oncology.
Outside of work, Dr. Roy enjoys spending time with her husband and children, running, dancing, cooking, and traveling.
